F&Q:

Where Do The Appointments Take Place?

Dr Hulme is currently based at The Medical clinic in Didcot on the Broadway.

How Quickly Can I Get An Appointment?

Typically we can get new patients in within a day or two.

What Can I Expect On My First Visit?

The initial consultation will typically last between 45 minutes to an hour. We will begin by taking a thorough history beginning with the main issue you’re presenting with as well getting information on your past medical and lifestyle history so we can get a full picture on what’s going on. Then we will move onto an examination, at this point we’ll get you to remove your shoes, belt, coat and jumper (keeping your last layer on for females). It is ideal if you can come in with loose shorts and T-Shirts. Your Chiropractor will need to get to the skin of your back to be able to perform a proper assessment (so definitely no full dresses please).

After taking a history, an examination will be done of your main issues which will normally include a posture & spinal assessment, mostly done by hand and then orthopaedic and neurological tests. At the end of your visit, the Chiropractor will give a short explanation of the cause of your problem and whether we can help you or not. Treatment is sometimes offered at the end of that first visit when possible, however sometimes it is better for the Chiropractor to put together a plan of action before commencing treatment. This means sometimes treatment won’t be offered until the follow up visit. Please do ask any further questions you need in regards to this process above.

X-Rays?

We have access to X-Ray facilities to assess your spinal alignment, disc health, bone strength and to rule out any possible serious conditions. If you require an x-ray, this will be recommended at the end of your initial visit.

Will It Hurt?

Very rarely will the treatment we provide hurt and we do everything possible to make it as comfortable as possible. It isn’t unusual to feel a little sore after treatment, especially at the beginning however this is normally very mild and lasts no longer than a day or two
